The couple of dozen museums that Lapland has on offer have a large collection of artefacts and displays featuring local history. This site provides information on all of the museums within the operational area of the Provincial Museum of Lapland. The museums can be selected on the map on the basis of their location or searched for by subject-matter. Museums are the foundation of our material and spiritual culture. Each museum has its stories to tell about the buildings, artefacts, and local history. Local history, provincial, and specialized museums in particular have a rich tradition of story-telling.
